Walking Helps You Heal

Walking is great!

I have an old fighting injury that likes to come up and bite me. It feels like that's just what it does...bites!

My back has suffered through some tough sport injuries and does well for what occurred but when I don't listen to it I can really cause myself some hurting.

I've not been able to do any of my workouts due to my neck. I didn't listen to it when it was whispering "I'm not doing well" so now it's screaming at me.

I'm walking, icing and drinking lots of water as well as eating lots of healthy food to get back to being me.

Your body heals faster when you get your blood flowing. Blood brings in all the good stuff your body needs to heal right to the spot it's working on.

After an injury there's usually a rest time but the doctors are learning to shorten that time. After a day of rest they have me out walking and using gentle stretching to help my neck heal.

Don't give up on exercise when you're hurt. Rest then get right back up when you can so you're body can help itself repair. Be careful when doing sports too. I got too crazy with mine. Not a good plan. When you're older the old injuries come to visit and they often bring friends!

Walking is a friendly exercise that helps your body. I split up my walks. You can take divide your walks into 2 or 3 shorter sessions if your day is busy.

I like splitting mine up to keep the walking fun. I break up my day with "thinking" walks. I try to solve my problems while I walk. Sometimes I actually solve a couple by the time I get home.

I'm off to ice my injury again. I can't wait until I'm kicking and dancing again!
